Activities

Dolphin & Whale Watching Cruise with Snorkeling

Price: $50
Experience the amazing sensation of swimming and dolphin watching in Puerto Escondido! We have five species of dolphins (spotted, spinners, bottle nose, pilot and river dolphins), that call Puerto Escondido home. We will encounter an extraordinary eco-system with abundant marine wildlife. Sea turtles, mobula rays, whales, flying fish, a variety of sea birds and many other magnificent marine animals abound. Don’t forget your swimsuit, and cameras to enjoy these amazing creatures.
After hotel pick up 7:00 am you will arrive at Puerto Angelito beach where you will be departing on a 25 foot panga boat with shade.We will start  our trip sightseeing the main beaches of Puerto Escondido, such as Playa Principal, Zicatela, and Punta Zicatela from the water. After this we will head off shore in search of Dolphins, Whales, (whales visit Puerto Escondido from November to April), and an incredible diversity of marine wildlife. We will search for dolphins in the pacific coast which has 5 species of dolphins: Spotted, spinners, bottle nose, pilot dolphins and river dolphins. Once we find them, you will be able to admire and listen to them in their natural environment! Get your cameras ready to take some shots and videos as they join us on our trip! . There is so much to see so be ready  to have a fun and memorable adventure!At the end of the tour you can decide if you would like to stay at Puerto Angelito beach or head back to your hotel.

Bioluminescence Tour

Price: $20
Discover the amazing effect of bioluminescence in the waters of Laguna Manialtepec, located a few miles from the resort.  The tour typically lasts 1.5 to 2 hours including transportation to and from the laguna.
You will visit the beautiful Laguna Manialtepec, an extraordinary ecosystem home of exotic vegetation and wild life, that is located ten minutes from the resort.  There you will board a boat that will take you to live a unique experience discovering the secrets of the lagoon. Hear about the mysterious history of Isla del Gallo, admire the mangrove islands and its abundant wildlife like birds, iguanas and dozens of species of fish.
Jump off your boat and take a swim inside the waters to observe one of the most amazing phenomena of nature: Bio-luminescence.  There are few places in the world where you can see this natural wonder! Swim in the lagoon while the water start glowing when you make contact with it.  This phenomenon is caused by millions of Bioluminescent Phytoplankton.

Thermal Springs Horseback Riding

Price: $70

Get ready for a memory making horseback expedition!  Enjoy the beautiful landscapes of southwest Mexico as you drive north from the resort for approximately 20-minutes. Upon arrival at the town of Manialtepec, you will ride gentle/well trained horses into the jungle and to the thermal waters where you will be able to swim/soak in the hot pools. The ride is amazing as it crosses streams and rivers, with views of local wildlife, ranches, sun soaked beaches and sheer cliffs before arriving at your destination. There is also a small restaurant offering local Mexican fare.  After your swim in the pools and a quick snack, you will ride back to the town of Manialtepec, and then head back to the resort.
